About

Welcome,

I’m Laura, an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about supporting people whose work or life involves caring for and supporting others — health and social care professionals, teachers, managers, parents/carers - anyone whose life involves constantly showing up for someone else.

If you've ever felt like you're pouring from an empty cup, or that the way others see you makes it hard to admit you're struggling, you're exactly who I built this practice for. Having worked in health and social care services for over 15 years, I am well acquainted with the impact serving others can have and my hope is that North Wales Psychological Services is a place you can come to take a breath and lay the demands down for a little while.

As a psychologist I integrate several evidence-based interventions to offer a personalised service that helps you move towards your goals. I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) and systemic approaches. In practice, this means we won't just talk about your difficulties — we'll work towards building a different relationship with them, developing self-compassion (often the hardest skill for people who spend their time caring for others), and, where trauma is part of the picture, processing it safely.

Whilst therapy can have a significant impact on one’s life, I firmly believe that connection and community are the places that we flourish. That’s why I am passionate about offering group, as well as individual, spaces. Groups can be a place where we learn that we are not alone in the difficulties we face and that others are familiar with the challenges we experience. Groups can be a place to experience the reality that we are not alone.

If you’ve had enough of feeling burnout, isolated and overwhelmed, get in touch today to book a free 15 minute call to explore how we could work together.
