Those are the words I needed to hear when starting therapy and they are the words I offer to you now. 
Life can be hard and many of us go through things that are difficult to make sense of. Therapy can be one way to begin unravelling the past to help you build a life you love and deserve.

About Dr Laura Miles

Laura is an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with a passion for working with those who spend their lives giving and caring for others. Laura brings a compassionate and curious approach to her work, recognising and normalising psychological distress as an understandable response to the things we experience. Laura works collaboratively with her clients to make sense of their stories, responses and experiences and draws on different therapeutic modalities to develop a bespoke intervention to help each person see changes in their life.

Laura provides online and in person therapy sessions that are tailored to your personal goals. Laura specialises in working with people who experience anxiety, stress and burnout, including those who have experienced trauma. Laura draws on a range of models including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Re-Processing (EMDR). 

At North Wales Psychological Services we understand the importance of healthy working environments on both individual, group and community wellbeing. Laura offers a range of services to companies including training, workshops, reflection practice and bespoke packages designed to improve psychological safety and wellbeing at work. 

Connection and community are foundational principles at North Wales Psychological Services and this is why we are pleased to offer a range of therapeutic group spaces that allow people to come together and experience shared humanity and compassion. Groups are available online and in-person and each is tailored for a specific group. 

Laura is skilled trainer and former TED-X presenter. Laura's training combines professional and lived experience to provide an engaging and impactful learning experience. Laura can provide training on a range of topics including psychological safety, wellbeing at work, building resilience and compassion, and mental health.

Based on her years of experience working in specialist therapeutic services, Laura also offers trauma informed consultation to the parents, carers and networks of children who have been removed from their birth parents. Laura is trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and promotes therapeutic parenting approaches.
